On September 28th, the two surviving members of the famous singing quartet “The Crew-Cuts” spent the day at St. Michael’s Choir School filming a CBC documentary “From the Vaults”. “The Crew-Cuts” were all graduates from St. Michael’s Choir School and were most famous for their recording of “Sh-Boom”. The group was active from 1952 to 1964 and John and Ray Perkins have not been back to the school since Monsignor Ronan’s funeral in 1962. Our boys had the opportunity to rehearse Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus with John and Ray and Tommy Gillespie even had an impromptu performance of “Sh-Boom” with the Perkins brothers. It was a day we will not soon forget at St. Michael’s Choir School.
