What are the choral program fees for St. Michael’s Choir School?

Choral program fees for the Music School is currently set at $8,200 per student per annum for 2024-25.

We are committed to maintaining the highest quality of choral programming and musical training for our students, and we will continue to do our best to ensure that our program is as affordable and accessible as possible for all students.

How do students get to and from the school?

Transportation of students to and from St. Michael’s Choir School is the responsibility of each student’s parents.

The majority of our students travel to and from school by way of the Toronto Transit Commission. TTC travel is free for students under 12, and elementary students over 12 are provided with two TTC tickets for every school day by the Toronto Catholic District School Board. When will I find out if my son has been accepted?

Letters offering a place at the school are normally sent home in late April or early May, after all auditions have been completed.

I got my “Invitation to Audition” letter in March but it’s dated January 21st. Am I too late?

Audition invitations are prepared shortly after Christmas holidays, but scouts visit schools until March break. As long as you get in touch with us at least two weeks before the last day of auditions, we will be able to book a time for your son.

Anyone looking to book an audition outside of the official audition dates are invited to contact us at admissions@smcs.on.ca for more information.

Do I need to bring anything to my son’s vocal audition?

Your son should plan to bring any music he will need with him, including piano books where applicable. All documents required for the audition should be submitted electronically at least two weeks before the audition date.

Is before and after school supervision available?

St. Michael’s Choir School offers a supervised playground from 7:00 AM until first bell and from final bell until 5:30 PM. While there are no structured activities during this time, students have access to sporting equipment and, in case of inclement weather, the school’s library. There is no additional cost to parents for students to stay in the playground before and after school, however a charge is levied for tardy pickups.

Who can I contact for more information?
